What are the Levels of Care for Addiction Treatment?
Depending on your needs, we’ll determine what level of care suits you best. Below are some of the levels of care at our recovery center.
Starting Off Treatment with Detoxification
Detoxification is generally the first step of our treatment program for recovering individuals. Detoxification, also known as detox, is the process your body undergoes as it rids itself of toxic chemicals accumulated through substance use.
Our on-site medical team will help you to alleviate the symptoms of withdrawal throughout the detox process. Detox helps our recovering members:
- Lessen the pain and discomfort of withdrawal symptoms
- Promptly treat any medical issues that occur
- Set the foundation for the core component of treatment to begin
Residential treatment is the highest level of care offered at our treatment center.
Our on-site medical team will be there to support you 24/7 at a residential treatment program. These programs generally last anywhere from 28 to 90 days.
This is most beneficial for individuals who have moderate to severe addictions. However, even those with less severe addictions can benefit immensely from residential treatment.
Our community and environment are trigger-free, allowing individuals to solely focus on overcoming addiction. Each day consists of a structured daily routine consisting of evidence-based treatment methods and therapies.
Each treatment plan will be customized depending on the individual’s needs. Some people benefit more from cognitive-behavioral therapy than others. For some individuals, group therapy may be where they receive the most benefits.
That’s why tailoring treatment is crucial. Every individual is on a unique journey to addiction recovery. We honor that.
Partial Hospitalization Programs
This type of program is designed for people who need ongoing care, but want to continue to live at home. PHPs require people to attend daily treatment sessions with the ability to return home after.
The schedule will be tailored to the individual’s needs. The components of treatment include individual and group therapy sessions, recovery meetings, access to amenities, and plenty of community support.
PHPs are ideal for people who have obligations outside of treatment and need more freedom than a residential treatment program. In other cases, partial hospitalization is helpful when you have a stable at-home environment.
Outpatient treatment consists of scheduled treatment sessions at our treatment center weekly. Sessions generally take place three to five times a week. Treatment sessions will include a combination of treatment methods and therapies.
This type of treatment is especially beneficial for individuals with serious responsibilities outside of treatment. For instance, you may be taking care of a child at home.
In other cases, you are preoccupied with professional responsibilities. Regardless of your situation, we’ll work with you to create the ideal schedule.
Sober Living Housing
Sober living consists of on-site homes governed by certain rules. These homes are located in a sober community, free of any harmful triggers.
Guidelines include no substance use, mandatory house meetings, regular drug screenings, and participation in household chores. This can be an excellent choice for individuals as they transition out of treatment.
Another major benefit is being surrounded by people on the same journey as you. Together, we can work towards long-term sobriety and fulfillment.
Dual Diagnosis Treatment
Dual-diagnosis treatment aims to target both mental health disorders and addictive disorders. This is also referred to as co-occurring disorders.
It is common for individuals to suffer from addiction and mental illness. Many times, mental health disorders may have triggered the onset of addiction.
At LA Detox, we treat mental health disorders such as:
- Bipolar disorder
- Obsessive-compulsive disorder
- Post-traumatic stress disorder
- Attention-deficit disorder/attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder
- Eating disorders
In other cases, addiction has led to the development of mental health conditions, such as depression and anxiety. Our treatment aims to address co-occurring disorders through different forms of therapy, as well as other methods.

Additional Treatment Services
We offer a wide range of treatment services for our members. A handful of these services include:
- Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT): CBT uses stress-relieving approaches to trauma, grief, mental illness, and other intense stressors. This therapy focuses on developing healthy coping mechanisms and tools to work through stress.
- Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET): MET is a talk-based therapy that helps create motivation for the recovering individual. MET uses talk therapy to initialize different forms of motivation that the individual can use long after treatment ends.
- Family therapy: Family therapy is all about improving the overall family dynamic. In return, this increases the sense of stability in a recovering individual’s life. Through effective communication, stronger relationships can be built.
- Mutual support groups: Support groups are key to addiction recovery. Support groups range from group therapy sessions or recovery meetings such as Alcoholics Anonymous. Support groups will help you see that you are far from alone.
